VCI-380 Alternative Case
Pros: Good Protection,Sturdy
Using the case for Vestax VCI-380. I chose this case because of the open top and angled setting. The case allows full access to all buttons, knobs and squares; whereas many of the cases with laptop stands block access to the knobs and buttons. Nudging the platter directly from the side is very tight (nearly impossible) as there is only a finger-space between the platter and the inside-edge of the case.
With the extra space below the VCI-380 and the area above the top-edge, it allows space for speaker cables, extension cords and hard-drives. When using the Stanton Uber Stand, the laptop covers this void area without getting into the air space of the buttons or knobs.
I have added extra sponge and cushioning to the interior for a better fit. The width of the VCI-380 fits extremely well. The front edge needs a gap to allow access to headphone knob. The back edge needs cushioning to keep the VCI-380 from sliding back. The interior of the top-cover required much foam and cushioning to prevent the VCI-380 from tipping over while the case was closed and vertical.
The Odyssey case was not made for the VCI-380, but it works well. Hopefully Odyssey can make a case (or at least some sponge/cushioning) specifically for the VCI-380.
