I do mobile and club dj. I pretty much use a backpack to carry all my stuff. With this stand, it makes my backpack heavier and look bulky. I was upset because I had to buy the tray serperatley. $40 extra. ARE YOU SERIOUS? But when its built its perfect. Really like the height, and how strong it is. It takes some time to get used too..

Comments about Odyssey LSTANDM Foldable Dj Computer Laptop Stand:
This stand is a good stand for the money. I do like the height adjustment. If your DJing with individual cases for your turntables and you put the covers under the cases for more height this stand is still high enough to hold your laptop over them. My one drawback is that even when all the knobs are tighten all the way the stand does still droop at times causing the laptop to lean more towards your equipment. I have a flip up cover on my mixer case for the wires in the back so I usually put that cover up under the stand where the laptop is placed as added security so it doesn't droop. The flip up cover is attached to the mixer so it fits nice and snug under the stand and keeps it in place. Overall the stand is a good one for the price a little on the heavy side but I would recommend it.

Comments about Odyssey LSTANDM Foldable Dj Computer Laptop Stand:
Probably the best priced, if far from the most stylish, of the decent mobile laptop stands.
One of the more stable freestanding designs. Even more stable with the clamp option, which makes this one of the more versatile designs.
Adjustment of height, and setup and breakdown to and from folded position seems a little awkward at first, but gets easier once you're used to it.

Comments about Odyssey LSTANDM Foldable Dj Computer Laptop Stand:
This is a quality laptop stand for the price. I use it for live performance and professional home studio recording. This product is very durable, sturdy, easy to adjust and supportive (for my 18"/12 lbs laptop). The drawbacks are the portable weight and that the top piece bends down a bit to far and needs to be readjusted at times. It's really not that much of an issue considering you want a bit of a bend to make typing easier. Overall rating is a 4/5 and I would totally recommend this product to a friend!

Comments about Odyssey LSTANDM Foldable Dj Computer Laptop Stand:
I was debating on getting this stand or the Stanton Uberstand, and decided to go with this stand. I am overall very satisfied with this stand, it holds my huge 17" laptop just fine.
It's very easy to set up and comes with instructions and an extra hardware to attach it to a coffin. This is my first stand, so I can't comment on how light it is compared to other stands, but it fits in my backpack just fine.
The only thing I am concerned about the stand is that the platform that holds the laptop can sometimes slip. This may be because my laptop is huge and heavy. Also, the knobs can be a bit hard to tighten all the way, it hurts my fingers if I fiddle with it for a while.
In conclusion, I am very happy with my stand and I feel that I got my money's worth.

Love this stand. The only inconvenience is switching from case mountable to table top configuration. I just keep the mount brackets on this one and use an old one for table top. Over all this is a good product.

Comments about Odyssey LSTANDM Foldable Dj Computer Laptop Stand:
The debate on stands for laptops is as old and fierce as the debate on laptops itself. Mac or PC? Uberstand or L-Stand.
I have used various kinds of stands and I do a bit of everything, traveling, concerts, clubs big and small, studio recording, etc.
Let's get the NEGATIVES out of the way first, since there is only ONE: This sucker is heavy.
There is an obvious reason for that - You want it to be sturdy and durable, right? Then its going to be somewhat heavy.
Previous L-Stands by Odyssey have suffered in the rigidity department because they were made of very thin steel IMO. This folding stand will not bend if it falls to the ground like their old one did.
Why not use Aluminum or a lighter material? Simple - those materials are lighter but more expensive. I don't really want to pay over $100 for a laptop stand. Do you?
Somebody complains that the add-on shelf unit costs $40 extra... well, do you absolutely need it? You can't sit your interface by your coffin/case or on the side?
NOW TO THE FEEDBACK:
I have worked with this stand for over a year now. I like it because it takes me 10 seconds to set it up on its free standing position (no optional clamps) unlike Odysseys previous model which you had to assemble and disassemble completely after each gig (took at least a minute, sometimes way longer). It took forever, it was a mess and frustrated the hell out of me as I was getting setup. Now this problem is eliminated.
The new LSTAND is sturdy and wide enough to hold a huge and heavy 17" notebook, small MIDI Keyboard or a large MIDI pad. No wobble, no fear.
The slight angle at which the stand locks makes it easier on your hands specially when you have the laptop hovering very high up. The uberstand is not angled, so the laptop sits FLAT and very high, making it a chore to see and reach for shortcut keys on your laptop depending on the kind of setup/table/DJ booth you are working with.
Uberstand's huge problem is that stupid zip tie they want you to use in order to keep the whole thing from tipping back. REALLY? A zip tie?!!!
Some risk it without putting the zip tie to save time (and not have to carry a back of zip ties and a set of cutters), but I would not be comfortable leaving my laptop on a stand that can tip back, even if I need a bit of force in order to cause the accident.
With the LSTAND you won't fear your laptop tipping over backwards. In fact, you have excellent adjustment downwards in case you want to angle the laptop towards you further.
To keep the laptop from sliding forward you have two large metal tabs that can be covered with cushioning material in order to keep your laptop angled towards you and without falling off the stand.
Height adjustment is a VERY IMPORTANT feature! You get this with the LSTAND. There are no notches or anything keeping you from adjusting the way you want. Height and angle are FULLY adjustable. Once you find you perfect "stance" just lock the knobs and done.
Odysseys older stand was a pain to take apart and pack away in your bag. The new LSTAND is less bulky (slightly heavier though) and folds together into one solid piece that takes the space of approximately 1.5" thickness in your backpack.
Reasonable for most large backpacks as the stand is pretty wide (17" notebook backpacks and maybe some 15" notebook backpacks maybe) and tall.
This is the only department where the very un-inventive designers of the UBERSTAND take a lead over the LStand since the Uberstand folds very flat and takes about .5" of thickness in your backpack. This is however the only point where I think the Uberstand has any advantage over the L-Stand.
Certain DJ's swear by both the L-Stand and the Uberstand, but truly, you are the only one that can make the decision.
In every case I get, I recommend the L-Stand for overall WIN potential. If somebody is absolutely STRAPPED for space and NEEDS something super thin in their backpack (while sacrificing features) then the Uberstand might be your only choice.
