So, my buddy comes over to check out the new 15" speakers, but the best reaction was when I set the speakers on the stands in the retracted position, pulled out the cordless drill and cranked the speakers up to show height with no lifting...reaction continues to be priceless...saves my "getting old" back at every gig...sturdy product, saves so many chiropractic appointments:-) Quick tip, get the bags that go with them....fit well, and easy to carry in....overall great product

I purchased these when I was told by a school I would have 8 minutes to setup my entire sound and lighting system in a gym for a dance immediately after school. I staged everything in the hallway, then used the power drill to crank up all the speakers and lights, and was playing KeSha by the time the first student arrived!
The knobs to lock everything in place take a while to tighten, unlike an Ultimate stand, but the poles still stay up without tightening. I find metal shavings on the teeth after shows, ans I fear that over time the teeth might wear down and possibly jam, but for now, after three months of weekly use, no problems!

I use mine to crank up my sp2s and as a t bar light stand. I added a 4ft extension pole, added a tbar and hang my lighting from it then crank it up. The maximum level of the crank pole is marked with a red warning label. Careful, pass this and the pole cranks out and falls. Duh.

I have two sets of 4 par 36 cans mounted on a t-bar. They are approximately 20 years old and they fit on my old light poles (which are shot)...now while they don't weigh nearly 100 pounds, I am wondering if a), my old t-bars will fit on the new poles and b)..how heavy duty are these things...my old poles are metal, not the cheap plastic stuff. Any opinions?
