This all-steel speaker stand with a 1 3/8" upper shaft comes with an 1 1/2" adapter. It also features a 2-section vertical shaft with eight preset height adjestment holes and a locking pin for added security. It's tripod folding base folds flat. The stands are heavy duty steel and you can tell by the weight of the stands. However, the hardware that prevents the stands from moving up and down or in and out is made out of cheap plastic. Both of my stands broke after two shows. When you tighten the knobs so they are snug they break the plastic hardware with little effort.
