I play in a band that works at least 3 nights a week, including large weddings, corporate events, and high capacity clubs. We play Top 40 dance music- including hip hop- with lots of processed bottom end. These speakers put out deep solid bass. The best feature is that the speaker baskets are field replaceable, and only require a 7/16 box wrench, so you don't have down time while someone re-cones your speaker.

I replaced a blown sub out of an EV Eliminator i Subwoover, which are somewhat weak as far as serious bass is concerned. One obvious issue was that the EV speakers are 4 Ohm, while the Peavey LowRider is 8 Ohm. However, even with the Ohm load disparity, the Peavey sounded tight & clear, and put out almost equal SPL at 8 Ohms as the EV's did at 4 Ohms and sounded much better. A definite improvement in sound. As cash permits, we'll be replacing our other 3 EV subs with the LowRiders.

I replaced my Black Widow's for these and couldn't be more happy, Much better bottom and over twice the handling capacity !!!! I'm pushing 2 of these with a QSC bridged mono 1500 w @ 4ohms and it's perfect!!!

It was finally time to upgrade my subs. Homebuilt to be impressive back in my college days when I couldn't afford store bought gear, they weren't getting the job done anymore. Peavey has always been known for bullet proof gear. So after doing the research, the super low frequency resonse of 25hz and the replaceable basket, told me this was the way to go. I have two in each cabinet powered by a QSC PLX3602 running in stereo. The cabs produce a 4 ohm load which equals 1250w per side. I now get thundering bass and have been given credit to rearranging trophies in one schools trophy case. And also moving empty chairs on a gymnasium floor....I think you get the point!!!!
Zero problems to date....if you're building your own cabinets, or have some old woofers that just aren't cutting it, these are a perfect route to go!
