The PV 118 Sub is a compact vented subwoofer system utilizing an 18” heavy duty woofer with a 3” voice coil and a 65 oz. magnet. The black, perforated steel grille and steel corners provide protection and a professional appearance, and the sturdy steel handles allow for ease of transport. Comments about Peavey PV-118 18in 400W Subwoofer +:

I use two of these for DJ large parties. They thump with their own QSC amps. The only problem is that they tend to move around the dance floor on their own due to the vibration. I need to secure them down on hard (non-carpeted) surfaces. Also, small amount of port noise at close range, but hey, there is a lot of air moving around. Good subs for the money and easy to transport.

            Comments about Peavey PV-118 18in 400W Subwoofer +:

I have 2 right now running on a QSC 1450 & going through the Peavey Kosmos . I'm going to add a third next week until the amp tells me thats enough . My DJ partner has the Peavey SP218 but what's the use of having all that power whit no where to play it. The PV118 is more than you need for way less money . If you think back , all clubs had were peavey subs that at the most held 300 watts & they were so loud you could'nt stand it . Think about it . Why do we need all this power.

Yes you would need a crossover for the peavey py-118.. because you want your low end power to go dierectly too your subwoofer.unless you are running them paralle...and using one amp only..
