Comments about Pioneer DDJ-ERGO-V Digital DJ Controller:

Ive been dj'in for about 10 years now. started out on the 1200's and still use them everyday. I was looking for a cheap controller but also wanted a quaility product. The ergo was it! Litterly 15minutes after recieving it I was using it live in a club. Installed softwear and drivers no problems at all. Sounds great, the ladies love "the pretty lights", easy to use. Buttons are kinda close to eachother but after 4hrs of using it no mess ups lol. It was a toss up between getting the numark n4 or the ergo for me. I went with the ergo because the buttons are not that cheap rubber you get when you buy numark products and with a name like pioneer behind it you cant go wrong. The buttons are very responsvise and easliy pushed in correctly. Ive found that some of the numark controllers, the rubber buttons make it hard to hit the correct time. The only downside to the ergo but isnt a big deal is it only has 2 volume instead of 4, also cannot use it as a standalone mixer w turntables. Nothing is ever gonna be the same as 2 turntables but this is pretty darn close. The scratching on it is not too bad. Id compair it close to the ns6 as far as scratching goes. The jog wheels are big enuff to get good movements in your scratching, unlike the s4 and hercules controllers wich feel like your trying to turn a little small wheel. All n all i really like it and would reccomed it. I have used it live in clubs and live streamin over the internet with no complants at all. As far as people saying its cheap plastic, what do you think all the other controllers are nowadays? The ergo feels solid to me and Ive used pretty much all the controllers the big names sell. As long as you dont abuse it I think the ergo will be a piece of equipment that you can count on time n time again.

Comments about Pioneer DDJ-ERGO-V Digital DJ Controller:

I thought I found the perfect controller; something designed specifically for Virtual DJ. However, the audio quality is far from good. This could be a driver issue, but there is definitely issues with the sound randomly popping and crackling (Even on the most powerful optimized PC). My DJ Hercules Trim 4&6 sounds way better and was more than $300 cheaper. The layout design for both decks is both mirror and duplicate. This causes confusion and accidental button pushes. Also, took 2 days to configure to get it to sound half way decent. Pulsing lights are gimmicky and really don't work for DJs who already know what they doing. I bought this unit so that I could control Virtual DJ in both the club via External Mixer, and school events / weddings as an all in one unit. But it fails to delivery quality for all big venues.

It's very easy to set up and start using, and is definitely great for beginners.
If you're willing to spend a little more for a lot more quality and specifications, I'd get Native Instrument's Traktor Kontrol S4.

It depends what operating system you are using. If your Hewlett Packard computer has a recent version of Windows then it should work. You also need to be running a DJ software program in order to use this product on your Windows PC, it is recomended you use the Serato DJ software. feel free to call us with any more questions. 800 945 9300.

At this point I believe that the Ergo is non compatible with Serato. There are rumors that sometime in 2012 there will be upgrades which will allow the Ergo to be compatible with Serato but these rumors are not confirmed. On the pssl add (the video) on the product page for the ddj-ergo it is written on screen "4 deck mixing", is that true Eventhough it only has 2 levels? I hope its true, that's the make or break for me.

The DDJ-Ergo is a 2 channel controller. What you saw in the video must have been an error. If you are looking for a relatively inexpensive 4 channel controller I would recommend the Native Instruments S4, it is a grat bargain because it comes with the full version of the Traktor DJ Software. Does this have the option to run 4 channels similar to other systems with 2 track slides? I hope this can do 4 channel mixing. I saw on a review on YouTube that said that.

Its meant to be a 2 channel mixer but with inputs being MIC x 1 (1/4 inch PHONE), AUX x 1 (RCA) you might be able to. Just not too sure
