PIONEER HDJ-2000 HEADPHONES COMBINE PERFORMANCE AND MAXIMUM COMFORT

The development of the Pioneer HDJ-2000 stems from numerous requests from top DJs around the world desiring headphones with:

  • Exceptional high-quality sound that clearly and accurately reproduces audio
  • Comfortable fit to minimize fatigue from long periods of use
  • High durability that withstands demanding conditions and touring

Accurate Sound Quality
The headphone is uniquely designed to improve sound quality and reliability—perfect for use in DJ environments and studios.

  • Thick 35µm Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) diaphragm improves rigidity and strength needed for better lower frequency response.
  • PET material used in the diaphragm also helps to dampen unwanted resonance.
  • Wide frequency response with high clarity and detail results from a large 50mm driver, ideal for all types of music .

Additionally, the headphones have an enclosed “over-ear" design with ear pads that seal around the user’s ears, reducing ambient noise and providing superior sound isolation for tracking in a loud club environment or a studio. The ear pad’s unique material, memory foam (Polyurethane foam), provides a tight yet comfortable seal, further enhancing sound reproduction especially in the mid to high frequency ranges.

Maximum Comfort for Extended Wear
The HDJ-2000’s lightweight construction and soft comfortable ear pads are ideal for long listening/recording sessions and reduce the well-known phenomenon of “headphone fatigue.”  The headphones feature:

  • “Protein Leather”1 Wrapped Pads - provide durability while making long use of the headphones more comfortable.
  • Low-rebound memory foam2 - used inside the ear pads and head pad, contouring to the shape of the head and maintaining a snug fit.
  • Magnesium alloy components - used in the main body components to achieve both a lightweight and durable design to minimize stress on the user’s head and ensure comfortable DJ play.

Sturdy, Stylish Design and Construction
The HDJ-2000 employs a Mini XLR connection to join the main body with the nearly ten feet of cable to achieve both a quality “sound” connection and easy replacement.  With a new i-type hinge, a smooth and integral form has been achieved that naturally fits the hands at any time during DJ performance. The headphone’s ear pads have a spun finish aluminum ring that matches the design of Pioneer’s CDJ players’ “play/cue” buttons for a cohesive stylish design.

Other Features:

  • Folding Structure: The headphones fold into a compact configuration for portability and storage.
  • Swivel Mechanism: The ear cups turn 90 degrees for more convenient single-ear or on-shoulder monitoring use. A torsion system returns the ear-cup to its normal position after each use.
  • Click Mechanism: Ear cups and hinges gently click into place to prevent inadvertent rotation or folding of the headphones during use.
  • Mono/Stereo Switch: Combines the audio signal for single-ear monitoring.
  • Carrying Bag: A soft pouch is included to protect the headphones when not in use.

I work as a club dj 6 nights a wk. I have bought the 0ther pioneer headphones and they broke at the hinges. Since then I tried several other headphones including the sony remix headphones as well as the sure headphones with removable cords(A Valentine present) and always suffer from the dreaded broken swivel. I went and bought the Hdj-2000 headphones and the swivel did not break instead the headphones shorted out inside and will play only if the headphones are in a certain position. They were useless at the gig and the only thing that saved the gig on Saturday night in downtown San Antonio after the Fiesta night parade were a pair of broken swivel headphones in my cable bag! So yes these headphones are just overpriced junk in my opinion.

My favorite pair of headphones I have found out there. Also had a pair of old Sony headphones as well as the Technics RP-DH1200 and nothing compares to the HDJ2000. I mainly use it for DJ gigs but noticed myself picking up my pair of Pioneers over my Bose headphones for listening to music off my ipod. Everyone DJ must own a pair of these.

I travel southern California playing gig to gig and comfortably rely on the legendary quality of Pioneer.

I also own the HD1000. Love it.

I use these in my home DJ setup and the sound quality is awesome. I would recommend these to anyone who can afford them. They are pricey, but I believe you get what you pay for. I read the reviews of some of Pioneer's other headphones, and opted to pay the extra cash to get the durability.

Comments about Pioneer HDJ2000 Ultra Professional Dj Headphones:

I am a mobile DJ who had previously used a set of Pioneer SE-DJ5000 headphones for almost 15 years. I liked them, but they did start to give me a headache towards the end of multi-hour gigs, and eventually the foam padding in the ears started to flake away so it was time for new headphones. I'm in a little better financial position than I was 15 years ago, so I decided to take a chance on Pioneer's top-of-the-line model this time.

Boy, is it worth it. I didn't realize how much better music could sound and how much more comfortable headphones could be. I honestly have no complaints and feel that, quite possibly, Pioneer has put out the perfect DJ headphone.

Lightweight, very strong, and comfortable. Check out the Youtube videos on them and watch the stretching and twisting these cans will take without breaking.

Comments about Pioneer HDJ2000 Ultra Professional Dj Headphones:

As I said in the headline, this is the best headphone for proffessional djs. I think its great for newbies also but a little too expensive. the things that this model has and that the 1000 doesn't is the removable cord. Best feature on headphones is the removable cord so when it breaks or something you dont need to change the headphone itself, you just get a cord and plug it in. A couple of differences from the 1000 is that this one has a larger driver and Alot more comfortable cushions.

Yes. you need a standard 3.5mm jack witch should be the one that already come attached to it. BTW it should also come with a 6.3mm jack already screwed onto the 3.5mm! (at least this was the case with my dn-hp 1000's).

Disadvantages would be it's 350.00 for iPod headphones that are the size of tin cans.
If you're using them for djing as well have at it. They're still too expensive for either one, but they're pretty.
Heqdphones like these are all the same minus a few details. Not too improved from the 99$ Sony dj headphones, dennon, xone 53, technics etc etc. All big silver closed back cans 50 or 53 mm with almost identical output. I seriously doubt you'd hear the difference.

I always use my HDJ2000's with my iPod. It comes with a 1/8" Stereo Jack to 1/4" Stereo Plug Headphone Adapter so that you can use it with many different products.
