If my DMX light runs are no more than 100-150 feet...would that be acceptable to use these with lights?

I wouldn't recommend it but you might be able to get away with it. Another factor aside from distance is how many lights are going to be in that 100-150 ft. chain and what type of lights they are. Moving heads or other lights with a high channel count will be more likely to cause issues than basic pars.

  • Q:

    Would these cables work for:
    1) DMX lighting
    2) Controller to self powered speakers

      1) Technically, yes but when used in a long enough chain of lights, you will begin to get "ghost signaling," which essentially means your lights will be doing random things you didn't tell them to do. While they do have the same connectors, the function and build of XLR and DMX cables are very different. XLR cables are meant to carry a single audio signal, whereas DMX cables are meant to carry 512 channels of digital data.
