QSC K12 Powered Speaker Produces "Club" Sound In Compact Enclosure!
Introducing the new standard in powered speaker systems, the QSC K Series. This new standard in Class D power modules is breaking the traditional loudspeaker paradigm. Made from premium-grade materials and advanced construction processes the K Series allows for a wide range of live and installed applications. Every model is fitted with the identical 1.75" HF device (fullrange models) and woofers of the same high quality for unparalleled performance, regardless of speaker size.
The K12 has completely changed the game when it comes to powered speakers used for a permanent install application. The auto-shutoff feature lets you rest easy in knowing that when the music shuts down so does the power amp on the speaker. The integrated cooling fan puts will put you at ease during hot summer gigs, ensuring that your equipment is safe from failure due to heat. QSC has literally made setting up your PA system dummy-proof with the K-Series. The cross-over, limiter, and any fancy rack components have been engineered right into the QSC K-series to give you killer sound right out of the box.
The levels of sonic clarity and total output defy the system's size and weight thanks to extensive DSP processing that is employed throughout. Combo XLR and 1/4" TRS inputs that accept both Mic and Line Level input. Also, a set of RCA phono inputs (except KSub) allow for additional connectivity to portable MP3 players, CD players and line-level mixers. Mix up to three audio sources on each channel for additional output flexibility. Preset EQ settings are provided by on-board switches. Set your LF switch to NORM, DEEP for additional bass extension, or EXT SUB (fullrange models) for use with an external subwoofer. The rear panel LED switch can be set to POWER, illuminating the front-mounted LED when the unit is powered on, OFF for applications where it is not desirable to illuminate the front LED, or LIMIT which indicates to the system operator that the clip limiter circuit has been engaged during operation.
Multiple K Series speakers can be "daisy-chained" for total gain control from a single remote pot. Auto-standby mode is engaged after 5 minutes of inactivity. Remote gain control capability is offered via a potentiometer (not included) connected to the on-board Euroblock connector.
Rather than conventional speaker plastics, the fullrange models are housed in rugged ABS enclosures that give off a professional appearance at home in any application. For ease of transport and long term durability the K Series offer ergonomic aluminum handles and a highly protective steel grille. Other features include a unique Tilt-Direct pole cup mounting system. Simply turn the dial to engage a 7.5 degree downward tilt allowing acoustic energy to be kept on the audience and off reflective surfaces for applications where maximum coverage from a high-positioned speaker is desired. The K SERIES M10 KIT (sold separately) or Yoke bracket (sold separately) allows for suspended applications.

I have used almost every kind of passive and powered speaker in the market so when the K series came out i was thinking to my self " they cant possibly sound as good as the mackie 450"
WRONGGGGG
Not only the k12s were much lighter and sexier then the mackies 450 that i used to love they have every possible input and output that you would possibly need, they sound amazing especially when DEEP mode is on.
with 1000watt of power you can push the ish out of them
i was soo happy with QSC that after purchasing 2 k12s i went back the next week to buy 2 ksubs and now i plan on purchasing another pair of speakers maybe the k10s or k8
QSC is the new industry standard hands down

I put this product to use at a military ball inside one of the Hyatt Regency's Ballrooms this past weekend and I was very impressed with its performance! The room had about 180-200 people in it but could have easily fit 250. I used 2 K12's with 2 Ksubs for this event but really didn't need both subs. I also was able to fit all my equipment in my 2 door Infiniti G37!! I didn't need any help as everything was light enough for me to carry. Upload took about 15 min and setup took about 15-20 min. Im so happy with this purchase and would recommend this to anyone!

Comments about QSC K12 2 Way 12" Powered Loud Speaker:
I have got to say, these are great speakers for the size. I have gotten a lot of compliments for the size and sound. I have 2 k12's with 2 kw181's. I have done a crowd of 250 easy with the gains at 12. I've also done gigs with these alone, and they did very well. The DEEP bass is great. I didn't believe at first until I've used it..it comes in handy when I don't need the subs. But, get the covers...you'll be grateful. I'm glad I puchased these. With the casters, I put both 12's on with my mixing console and just wheel it in to gigs. I don't need my handtruck anymore..unless there's stairs..lol. I've always used 2 peavey sp4's with a SP218 and 2 crown 4000 to push them, now I have less setup time and less weight on my back and less storage. 22 yrs of DJing has gotten much better..Thanks to QSC K & KW series. I prob will get the KW152's for bigger events 300+. One last thing, I did push these to go red (clip) for a good couple minutes..and it DID NOT stutter or shut off..that's my take after owning them for the past 6 mos. Hope this helps, I depended on reviews before purchasing myself.

These speakers are very versatile. I bought these speakers after years of lugging around an amplifier for my speakers, now I have the convenience of both in one. I am able to play music via my IPod directly through the speakers while I continue to set up my main system. I used to play piano and now I can practice again by using this speaker as my amp. The speakers are very stylish, easy to transport and mount. The sound quality is outstanding and easily can fill a large room if needed.

Comments about QSC K12 2 Way 12" Powered Loud Speaker:
First, QSC has come a long way in the Audio industry, always being high quality. Starting with the amps in the Cabs, they are super reliable, and run very cool. The cabs have a Celestion Mid/Bass drivers in them, and produce a super clear, crisp sound. The HF Driver is so accurately tuned, any where you are listening to the speaker(s) it sounds so nice. With these cabs, you do not need to put a ton of power through them to get a nice sound. The inputs are a huge plus, you can run 3 different wires from all different sources through 1 speaker. The effects are very nice too. DEEP adds a lot more bass and lower frequency to the speaker, when switching the vocal boost adds a lot more HF to the compression driver, for the extra clarity. The ABS sounds full and warm, but is a scratch magnet, so GET CASES, to protect your major investment. Add a powered sub for the gigs that require more bass response, and songs that have a low frequncy root. The Ksub is good, but the KW 118 sub is really the way to go. The bass coming out of the K12 is good, but not sub bass, and you will hear that when you listen to them. Over-all, this is by far the best speaker I have heard, compared to the JBL PRX 600's, RCF's, Mackies, and Bose. It is easy to move around, and just the most practical for really any application.

When you're for hire and DJ for a living, you quickly learn, you buy & use the best and most reliable gear you can afford. Your reputation, your business, rides on every gig.
I heard a pair of K8's at a local event. I couldn't believe my ears. Wow, just wow! The next day, I was at my distributor who demo a pair of K12 on top of a pair of K-Subs. The clear mids & "punch you in the chest" lows were without peer. Nothing even comes close.
Within a week, I sold my JBL SRX 715's and 718S along with three QSC PLX2 3602's and purchased the K12's, K Subs and factory covers for all. I've done about 25 gigs so far, half of which I only used the K12's by themselves. Largest gig indoor was for 550 (wedding reception) and outdoor gig for 1,400. Worth every hard earn penny I spent for them. I've never pushed them past 50% power, never had to.
Don't listen to me, listen to these speakers. But keep your eyes open, cause you won't believe you ears!

I wrote a good review earlier about these speakers....but I have to add that I was a little skeptical about taking them outside with out subs.....Boy was I wrong. They held there own at a block party and was even heard three blocks away. Great sound quality and good thump with out a sub..even outdoors. Excellent Speaker....Worth every penny. The new standard.

These are incredible speakers and we have over a dozen in stock in our production company. We use them for everything from conferences with public speakers to dj events to concerts. However I have had a couple of them with no fault on the part of us blow. 1st had a woofer blow even though the audio signal was only half way up and the 2nd the amp blew yet again with the audio less than half way up.

Absolutely brilliant. I've been a DJ for around 12 years now and this is the total package. After selling off all my gear a few years ago. I've decided to go back to my DJing habit. I worked in a sound shop for quite a few years and I know my gear. I've heard them all from no-name cardboard cabinets to Mach line arrays. THESE SPEAKERS ARE INCREDIBLE. Great design. Huge output without hogging power, Beautiful, accurate sound without weighing as much as a baby elephant. Lots of DJ friendly extras like a tilting stand mount and a locking power cable. Can't come up with a downside. These speakers rock, but, you probably don't want to "test" them at home, in the living room, at 10 pm...woke the neighbors, waaay more headroom then I expected. QSC, I love you.

I have been in the DJ business for about 20+ years and I have used a variety of Speakers: EV, JBL, Peavey, Crate, Mackie just to name a few. However, I just brought the K12 by QSC.....and it is like OMG. Trust...these are well worth the investment. Before I brought them...I heard them side by side all of there potential competition for that category and they blew them away (JBL, Yamaha, Cerwin Vega, Mackie & Berhinger)....however, on a side note...those new powered 15" Berhinger's where giving JBL a run for the money to be 2nd on my list. But if you have the money...go with the QSC. You will be glad you did.

OMG... QSC did it again. These are by far the best speaker I have ever heard. I was searching for a replacement for my mackies SRM 450. I bought the SRM 450V2 and those speakers sound like garbage. Took them back and got the JBL 515 EON. Those were ok, but I was still missing that serious punch and power. Enter the QSC K12 Series. This speakers deliver on every sense of the word powered speakers. I should have purchase this speakers from the beginning. After all I owe the HPR 152 and the HPR 15 Sub woofers. Move over Mackie...K series is the new standard on powered speakers.

This is a great speaker with superior sound quailty vs it's competion. Amazingly easy to set up and use. This is my first time getting away from big bulky older style passive speakers and dragging around racks and amps. I highly recommend them. Arrive, turn on, party. It's that easy.

Q:
I recently asked if I could connect the output of this into another powered speaker, I need to know which xlr out I would use, is it the one right below the input or the one called "post gain out"1 answer
A:
You can use either of those XLR outs. The two right below the inputs are direct outs for that channel; whereas the post gain is an after mix out. So lets say you have one input with a microphone and the other with your music you can send just the microphone or just the music or you can send the same mix you've created to your other powered speaker.Q:
Is it safe to go out of this unit and into another powered speaker, if so, which connector do I use. Thanks1 answer
A:
You have the capability of connecting one of these to an additional powered speaker via the through XLR port. This will send the same audio signal the speaker received from the original source to the next speaker.Q:
For plugging in a laptop or iPhone, you would use a RCA to mini plug adapter is that right?1 answer
A:
That is correct, buit-in mixer with up to three audio sources can be mixed.Q:
I have 2 QSC12 powerd speakers plus 1 K SUB we are using in a full size gym setting where is the best spot to place the sub to get the1 answer
A:
If it's a church setting, the best place to put it is right in front. The way you can hook it up is interlink them because there powered speakers.Q:
Is it normal for the speaker, once it is on a speaker stand to "wobble" a little bit. I even turned the so called dial, which didn't do much, and it still seems prone to wobbling especially when you have people jumping up and down on a dance floor.1 answer
A:
It will have some natural give and take on the speaker stand - make sure you are using the 1" 3/8 end of your speaker stand pole.Q:
If I use 2 QSC K12's - being that they are active speakers, and then use 2 subwoofers that are passive but use my amps for them, will that work or will they be out of phase with each other?1 answer
A:
It will work fine when you plug the two passive subs into the amplified speakers.Q:
What are the product warranty options on these speakers?1 answer
A:
these speakers come with a limited one year warranty. however, if you register your speakers on QSC's website, you can extend the warranty to six years for free! This extended warranty is normally $99. See their website for more details:Q:

On 3/25/2010, you said that "the QSC K12 2 Way 12" Powered Loud Speaker will actually top out at around 1000 watts". So is 1,000 watts the K12's peak rating? How many continuous watts is the K12 rated for?3 answers
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
The amplifier SPECIFICATIONS for the K12 2 Way 12" Powered Loud Speaker by QSC.A:
Yes, 1000 is there peak. And they run around 500 watts continuous....however, if you have to push them a little...they won't clip on you. Great speakers that will hold its on under pressure.A:
According to the specs the QSC K12 is rated at 1000W continuous and 2000W peak. Not that it matters much, QSC is famous for engineering, they produce speakers that are extremely efficient, so the wattage rating is very deceiving. They perform way past what you'd expect. If you can, test drive them first. If not, just buy them, you won't be disappointed.
