The Second Edition Scratch LIVE colored vinyls are differentfrom the first edition (CV01) in two ways. Firstly, the records aremastered on much better equipment than the original, and donot suffer from any noticeable pitch variation (0.0026% max).
Secondly, the absolute positioning signal (APS) used in these special edition colored vinyls differ from the CV01 enabling the software to distinguish which version of the vinyl is being used, and even which side is playing! The second edition is obvious from the red band on the upperright corner of the sleeve. The label on the vinyl, besides beingmarked CV02, has large A and B markings to easily tell betweenthe 10:00 and 15:00 sides. Scratch LIVE software version 1.2 andhigher is required to use the second edition vinyl.
Sleeve contains (1) Rane Serato Scratch Live Timed Coded Vinyl.

Okay so when I got these new purple cv's I expected them to look exactly like the picture. LOL. boy was I was I wrong. They are a real dark purple control vinyl if it's dark enough the almost look identical to the original serato CV except for the new scratchlive label. All in all I don't regret purchasing them. My CV's came a bit warped though but it wasn't a big deal.

WARPED!
Vinyl was warped when I received them in 3 different occasions. The purple had 2 different styles. One was marbled and the other was solid. Made a mismatch!

I was thinking they would be a bit more see-through than they are. They almost look like plain black CV when they are on the tables in normal light conditions.
Under blacklight I saw a tiny bit of my slipmats showing through that lit up for a cool effect.

Comments about Rane Serato Sratch Live Time Coded Vinyl-Purple:
As a Serato user for the past six years, I love collecting various colors of Serato records. These purple records have been a wonderful addition to my collection.
They are very versatile; light enough for scratching and heavy enough to handle long mixes.
The only drawback I can see in ordering ANY kind of vinyl record is that you will never know if the record that shows up to your door step will be warped.
I would recommend asking PSSL to check for warped records prior to shipping via special instructions.
