I really like the item. The packaging, however, is nothing more than one thin layer of corrugated cardboard, which isn't even fully sealed along all corner edges. The cardboard does not hold up to the rigors of shipping. There were broken box edges and holes torn in the box sides. There is no padding whatsoever. The item weight alone is enough to cause damage to the item being thrown around during shipping. Metal edges were bent-in and showed abrasions. One metal ball-corner was dimpled. This was my second order of three Road-Ready cases, a 6-space and two 8-space racks. Road-Ready customer service was not helpful and refuses to package the product better, claiming that doing so would add $100 to the shipping cost per case (which is still less costly than ANVIL). The manufacturer knowingly admitted that the shipper would likely say that the cases are not packaged properly for shipping. Shipping these cases safely is not a priority for the manufacturer. They claim that damage rarely occurs. Yet it happened to me on two separate orders of three cases each, for a total of 6 cases. All cases were damaged. All cases were returned for full refund. The manufacturer does not allow direct pickup by the buyer, insisting that they don't do direct sales. When I pay "new" prices, I expect "new" condition, not damaged goods. Buyer beware.
