Comments about Road Ready RRM12U Slant Rack Case 10X12 Spaces *:
The plastic while durable and attractive gives off a strong smell that gradually wears off. So you will want to leave the protective lids off theunit for several weeks or Lysol it as I did. With a shelf for the slant rack, sound modules could be more easily mounted, for some modules do not come rack mountable. [...] I chose to do the rethreading of the rack screw holes since I had the ability to do so. [...] You need to have a plan for what you want to mount into this rack to insure that everything fits. I liked the heavy wooden base board, for it allows one to mount the musician's cart to a dolly system of your choice if you do not want the large castors extending the height of the rack so much. During the last three years, I have performed well over one thousand professional gigs with this rack at my side. I play a digital MIDI and acoustic piano accordion system and use a lot of gear. This rack has helped to make this all possible. The rack has greatly decreased my set up and break down times. The powered mixer, audio compressor,UPS, large storage drawer, sound module on the slant rack remain inside the rack with all connections intact. All that remains is to wheel the cart down the aluminum multi-fold ramp out of my van and into the performance site. Then I wheel my speaker system, seat, folding music stand, accordion, and music case in to the gig site and I am ready to play. What used to take40 minutes now takes 18 minutes of set up time!I find the side mount lids don't get used much. The slant rack lid on top gets used all the time, for dust protection is a must for the module. If the weather is likely to be inclement, then I bring the lids for the sides as well. I have carefully glued foam to the insides of the lids to offer better insulation from heat and cold.I leave the rack in my van spring, summer, and fall, but bring it inside between gigs for the winter. I like the side handles that extend most of the width of the rack. The plastic lids have held up great and their latches have functionedvery well. The rack appears as new. I recommend this rack to the professional musician or DJ.
