Great mic, all reviews I read before I purchased are true, awesome product. Only thing is I wish it had an 'on/off' switch on the actual microphone. Other than that great product!

The SM58 is more versatile than most people think. It's great on lots of things other than vocals - even as room mics for drums!

Comments about Shure SM58LC Cardioid Vocal Microphone:

I have a couple of these and use one on stage. I have other mics from Samson and others and they sound good, but they will break much easier than the SM58. After a show one night, somebody got tired of hearing me talk about my 58s and decided that it would be a good idea to test one of them by putting it under the bus tire and running over it. They then brought my beloved mic to me flattened and laughing like maniacs. I plugged it in and it STILL WORKED. Enough said. I have better sounding mics, but they aren't tough.

Comments about Shure SM58LC Cardioid Vocal Microphone:

This mic is the hands down go-to mic for live vocals. It also excells as an instrument amp mic for picking up the full, real ROCKIN' sounds you crave.
Never will it let you down, even after considerable abusive "technique". Ask Roger Daltry of the Who.
Great proximty effect or pull back for a more measured vocal pickup. Like it's brother (or sister) the valiant SM-57, this mic will see you through thick and thin! GUARANTEED

This is the Standard of all Mics.

If you play... You need this.

It is the most durable mic I have. My first one I beat the hell out of until the grill finally broke. Took forever.

            HA HA HA.
I saw another review saying chipped a tooth on it. I have too. Remember this mic is stronger than your teeth so if you run up on it pay attention.

I have been performing for about 15+ years
            I have had 3 OR 4 SM58S and a couple 57s.

Comments about Shure SM58LC Cardioid Vocal Microphone:

I have been performing for about 12 years now as a vocalist, and I have always used the SM58. This mic is darn near indestructible, sounds great for live performances and is low priced. My mic has been thrown across a room, chipped my tooth, been in a swimming pool, (don't put your mic in water) dropped, stepped on, and although it looks ugly it still works as well as the day I bought it. I recommend this mic to everyone. I can't guarantee that everyone will have the same experience (don't' put your mic in water) but I have never had any trouble with mine.

Comments about Shure SM58LC Cardioid Vocal Microphone:

The SM58 is not what I would consider to be the best sounding mic in my portfolio. It is, however, a rock-solid performer that sounds good and has never let me down. This is a must-have mostly because it's requested by vocalists from time-to-time. So even if you have other vocal mics, like I do, it's a good idea to have several of these available.
