Comments about Shure SM58S Pro Microphone With On & Off Switch:
I needed a professional mic with an On/Off switch for a live theatrical performance and knew of Shure's durability and high quality sound reproduction.
It was a no-brainer to have decided on the Shure SM58S PRO.
Similar to the popular SM58, the SM58S PRO has the additional function of an On/Of Switch located on the handle of the Microphone which puts some basic control in the hands of the performer.
This feature was important since I did not want put unnecessary pressure on the Sound Board Operator during performances by insuring the Mic was On or Off at the right time.
He had enough to do with managing sound and lighting cues. Plus sound levels had already been set; turning the gain up or down or changing volume from performance to performance was not a reasonable solution.
When the time came to perform a Voice Over from off stage during the production, the performer could gently click the mic On at a high point of the Music and hit their mark.
After they were done they'd turn the mic Off as softly as possible to minimize any audible pops or click sounds.
The capsule and shock mount within the microphone helped limit any minimal handling noise which was consistently unnoticeable.
I will say that if you're going to hold the mic in your hands during a performance; one with an On/Off switch may not be for you.
Place it on a mic stand and perform form there or simply be aware of the switch while holding it and you should have no problems.
This is a great mic to add to your arsenal of live sound gear because of it's seamless integration into just about any sound application.

Comments about Shure SM58S Pro Microphone With On & Off Switch:
Like I said you get what you pay for. Clear sounding, little to no feed back. The only thing it is a wired mic the wireless sure cost a lot more. But it's good for a DJ just starting out on a budget, to have a professional sounding microphone. Looking to purchase the sure wireless mic and headset soon.

Comments about Shure SM58S Pro Microphone With On & Off Switch:
As a DJ of course you use a wireless mic, but you need to have a back up just in case. This mic is a perfect wired mic to have ready. It sounds terrific and is tough enough to take the beating I give my equipment every night
