I replaced my old reference studio set that costs nearly three times as much with the SRH 840 today. The salesman initially recommended 440's. They also sounded great and I would compare them to my old set. I then listened to the 840's. No contest. Back home I could do a proper comparison. It gives a feeling of depth. It's like standing on stage. Sound is crystal clear and you can identify every instrument very clearly. I never thought it would be possible to beat my old set. I am very impressed. Time will tell how it will handle bumps and bashes. But with sound like this I will try my best to take very good care of it.
