What is the diameter of the light?
A shopper on Jun 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The LED's are in a circle, but it's an oval shaped case, the case body is about 8 inches wide X 6.5 inches high. 200mm w X 170mm h. The dual yolk legs and Screws add another couple of inches to the width. Also when it's plugged in the dual cooling fans come on and always run....so it's Not Silent ... Ok for DJ events with ambient background noise, but not recommended for a Recording Studio or a silent room ...
What dmx controller can this work with ? Will it work with ADJ 3 channel dmx controller ???
David H on Sep 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I don't specifically know the answer to your question. I can tell you that the owner's manual says the lights have 7 channels of dmx control. DMX mode allows you to use a universal dmx-512 console to operate. You assign a dmx address to each unit using dipswitches. The physical dmx link on the back of the lights is an xlr type. It also says that you have individual control of red, green, blue, and white LEDs, 0 - 100% strobe, and 0 - 100% dimmer via dmx mode. Static colors and RGB color mixing can be done with or without dmx controller. Working modes are dmx, sound active, auto, and master-slave. Also stated is that a dmx console cannot be used in the Master-slave mode. Disclaimer: this is the info provided in the owner's manual.

I think this is a nice light duty unit. I bought two and they sync nicely in the slave mode. They've served me well. Used in a quartet setting for small gigs. The owner's manual could be better in my opinion.
I have 4 of these Solena Max Par 18 Watt RGB DMX LED Wash Light... what is the CHEAPEST dmx controller you recomend ???? CHEAPEST... ;)
David H on Sep 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Chauvet's Obey 10 is probably the most economical answer (PSSL Item 70341). You need a board that handles at least 7 channels, anything cheaper doesn't have enough channels.
Are they metal or plastic case?
Carlos H on Jun 8, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Plastic housing with metal hang. Great light for band use.

Works great and well worth the investment
I needed something simple being a musician and not a lighting guy. I bought two: one for each side of the stage. These work really well for the money. Creates a changing color pattern. I'd give 5 stars, but the documentation is not very good. The short pamphlet provided refers to buttons that are not on the unit. I had to go online and look around on how to work these. There are some good general lighting tutorials on youtube. Simplest is to use them in slave mode to create a wash. You hook them together with an xlr cable and put the slave light on D001 and the master light on whatever program you want (I use D001 for both). That way, they are in snyc and create a wash of light that meets in the middle behind the band if you place them of either side of the stage. Used at the last gig and worked great.
