Sony's ultimate DJ and remix headphones incorporate high-end materials and advanced engineering; critically clean, exceptionally clear sound for professional and high fidelity applications.
Features:
- Swivel earcups for DJ and remix applications enable single-sided monitoring. DJs can listen to house sound with one ear while they cue up the next track with the other. Convenient for on-shoulder use.
- Reversible earcups for even greater monitoring flexibility
- Auto return swivel mechanism brings the earcups back to standard listening position
- Folding design makes for easy storage and easy portability in a briefcase or equipment bag
- 50 mm diameter drive units for reference-grade sound; enable superior power handling; deeper bass, lower distortion and wider dynamic range; frequency response extends down to an extraordinary 5 Hz
- 3000 mW power handling for the most stringent professional applications; stands up to day-in, day-out use at very high output levels
- Neodymium magnets for maximum energy and minimum size plus more magnetic energy per ounce than conventional magnets
- Ample sound output -- 107 dB/mW sensitivity
- Oxygen-free copper cord for maximum conductivity, minimum noise; conducts electricity better than conventional copper
- Supra-aural design rests lightly on the ear; creates a controlled environment for better sound; driver is positioned the correct distance from the ear canal
- Wide, molded headband distributes the headphones' weight over a wide area; reduced pressure means comfortable listening for hours on end
- Headphone rest -- serrated area on the plug acts as a "hanger"; plugged into a rack of equipment, the headphones can hang on the plug when not in use
- Gold-plated plugs resist corrosion for high conductivity, low noise
- Silver finish for a sleek, professional look
- Sony UniMatch plug system with fixed stereo miniplug for use with portable equipment; detachable phone plug for use with studio and home audio equipment
- 10.6 oz., without cord

These are by far the best cans out there. For the price. There is simply no comparision to any other DJ/Remixing headphone for under $150.00. Pioneers are okay but you are just paying for the name, the same with the Technics. I have owned three pairs, it's true that the swivel is weak but the sound is superb and second to none. I have tried Skullcandy, the cheaper Sony's, AKG, and even JVC....yeah I know! I have been in the booth with other DJ's that have used Pioneers and Denons? But anyway, they all suck when compared to these. It's like the mids are missing or something or they distort very easily when the volumes up. When you are mixing music, and dropping the mids and increasing the gain on the other track, other headphones require the monitor volume to be podded up to at least 2 o'clock (+4) in order to hear your transition clearly. That's friggin loud and on the border of distortion. Whereas with the Sony's I stay at 9 o'clock (0)all night and hear EVERYTHING clearly. These will bust my eardrums before the speakers would bust. That's a HUGE difference. I have even maxed them out on my board with no distortion. They don't even require headphone amps but still achieve amazing clarity at high volumes. I just bought the cheaper SONY's for school, but I am taking them back tommorrow. [$]Plus when I am cuttin' bass lines and kicks, you can actually hear and feel the bass in your ears versus turning the volume up. If anybody has anything bad to say about these, I dare you to by a cheaper pair and not realize the difference. Its a reason why we all have owned several pairs and "ALL" dj's use them (whatever the hell that means). A lot of people drive Toyota's and Honda's too.....hmm! Maybe its a Quality thing not a treand!Best around period for under $150. BUY THEM, [$]

These headphones are probably the best sounding on the market for the price. Which is why you'll see them on just about every professional dj's head. Only setback with the sound is that they tend to be heavy on the bass frequencies when the volume is turned up high. Great for performances, especially in loud places. Bad for the studio.
My complaint with them is that they break around the joint where the cup is connected to the head band. The "swivel" often splits at the joint as a result of frequent folding. I've owned two pairs in five years of frequent gigging. Both pairs broke at the same seam.

Comments about Sony MDRV700DJ DJ/Remix Headphones:
I use these headphones for for dj and home studio. The sound quality and fidelity is excellent, but the materials are not made of lasting quality. After a while my ear cups started to peel and the material around the band started to peal also. I had to order new ear cups from overseas because they are not available in the u.s. anywhere!!!

Comments about Sony MDRV700DJ DJ/Remix Headphones:
I bought these from PSSL the first day they came out. They had a recall on them because of a design issue but they fixed it. I have put these headphones thru so much abuse. I used them professionally for well over 500 shows. I max the volume on them all the time. I use them at home almost daily. They been slammed around, droped, kicked and you name it. I can not see any other reason to purchase a different brand. They sound quality has not changed at all on them. I love these headphones!

I'm a professional DJ and can put headphones to use. I've gone through 3 of these and that's it. They've lasted me about a year max! I orginally had another more expensive brand headphones and loved them. They got stolen and was talked into getting these because "all dj's" use them. Need something that last longer and I don't have to worry about breaking.

Comments about Sony MDRV700DJ DJ/Remix Headphones:
its the longest i kept a pair of headphones.i had these a little over a year.they just need a stronger swivel arm,the plastic is too thin and starts breaking after 5 to 6 month at least.
