These cables appear to be very robust. I have never used speakon before but I aquired a powered mixer and speakers that had this connection so I went with it. I like that they cannot be easily "pulled" out. It took me only a few seconds to figure out how to lock and unlock the connection. Connections appear to be solid. Lock is a plastic ring that worries me a little for durability but so far no problems with breaking.
