This system was easy to set up. Just plug and go. No amp is needed, which is helpful. The speakers are pretty powerful and supply sound great in our 2000 sq foot studio

can it be use to dj?

Answer to question #1: You could use this system as a DJ setup. However, its low power output would only be adequate for smaller rooms. Also, keep in mind that this system only has a mono output. Not ideal for those DJ's that like to use panning effects. You can add a subwoofer to this system, but you would need to purchase a bi-amp crossover to separate the frequencies and eliminate phase cancellation.
Answer to question #2: You can successfully connect a laptop to this system by using a 3.5mm stereo to two 1.4" breakout cable. You would have your inputs come in on two of the 1/4" inputs on the mixer.Answered on 9/20/2010 by Adrian from PSSL
