Comments about Stanton RM-406 19 DJ Mixer W/Effects Loop Sub Out:

As a Mobile DJ this mixer does most of what I need it to do. I love 3 microphone inputs, not many other 19" rackmount mixers offer that and all mics have a 3 band EQ. It has lots of line inputs, a mini plug for an iPod (which I used a few weeks ago when a lady brought in her own karaoke tune.)a sub out and lot's of XLR, 1/4" and RCA jack options. I like having the jacks on the back of the mixer for easy access. (some mixers place them on the bottom) I don't hear any noise and the sound quality seems good, although I don't have anything to compare it with side-by-side. I'm looking for a reason to "upgade" to a Rane or an Allen & Heath IF the sound quality is significantly better, but I am skeptical of that. Potentially better sound would be the only plus I see, as these other 'high end' mixers offer more spartan options, like fewer mic inputs, 2 band mic EQs, fewer line inputs, and much higher prices.

I guess my improvement suggestions would be to put VU meters that are more precise (although I really don't live by them, more by ear) and it would be great if there were a BNC connector on the mixer to run a little light.

Comments about Stanton RM-406 19 DJ Mixer W/Effects Loop Sub Out:

This mixer is very good for many reasons.

It is easy to understand and use, with lots of inputs and switches which are each laid out in a logical matter. The sound quality is excellent, but the best thing is the adaptablility of this mixer.

It has many inputs and channels, and as a mobile DJ this means having 3 mic inputs really helps. The lights and colors of this mixer really make it stand out and it offers things that are practical to its usablility, like a minijack input on the front and a split cue function which both are very good.

The only thing I dislike is that the crossfader curve doesnt' function like I want. Despite being an adjust function it pretty much stays as a cut. But this is not a scratch mixer so what can one say.
