Comments about Steinberg Steinburg Cubase-6 - Pro Recording Software - DAW:
I've been using Cubase since the first edition of Cubase SX. It has always been my favorite due to ease of use and great functionality. With Cubase 6, I felt that the upgrade was substantial enough to be worth the cost, and it hasn't disappointed. The VST amp rack is fantastic, as is Vari-Audion. In essence, Cubase has always been outstanding in terms of recording functionality. Now they seem to be improving on that but also providing a better, more rounded set of plugins, making the package all-inclusive. You could get by quite well without having to purchase a bunch of third-party plugins. My only "con" is that, while it's great on my macbook pro, I can't install it on my desktop PC yet because I don't have Windows 7 - that's the only compatible PC operating system. So, it's a minor inconvenience. Love the software. I only hope I can even begin to tap into all that it offers.
