A marvel of scaled-down design, the GS Mini is a fun little acoustic cannon that has taken the world by storm. Sporting a rich, full voice that belies its compact size, the Mini is ultra-portable, yet just as comfortable to cradle in the comfort of your home, making it the ultimate modern-day parlor guitar. Featuring the Taylor NT neck, the Mini comes with either a solid spruce or mahogany top. And with the easy-to-add ES-Go pickup and Taylor V-Cable, you'll have a viable performance tool, too.
GS MiniThe award-winning GS Mini was designed to be the ultimate musical companion, wherever you go - or stay. Inspired by the big, bold sound of Taylor's GS body shape, the Mini scales things down without skimping on sound, packing a ton of tone into a comfortable travel size and giving you a guitar that's full-voiced and incredibly fun to play. Think of the Mini as a modern-day parlor guitar, perfect for playing around the house but also built to fit an active lifestyle.
The Taylor Relief RoutTheir patented relief rout is a tone-enhancing voicing technique in which a groove is carved along the inside edges of the top. This groove is similar in function to the re-curve on a violin - it "loosens up" the edges of the top, generating extra flexibility without sacrificing structural integrity. They first began using this groove in 2002. The result is increased bass and volume with a balanced tone.
ES-GoThe ES-Go is an aftermarket, passive magnetic soundhole pickup that was developed specifically for the GS Mini. Anyone can install it in minutes with just a screwdriver thanks to the pre-fitted connecting bracket inside the guitar. Pair it with the V-Cable, which features a built-in volume control on the cord.
Sapele LaminateWhile the rich tones of solid wood remain unmatched, laminates can yield great sound in a beautiful, durable and affordable instrument. Such is the case with sapele laminate, in which they use interior and exterior veneers of sapele with a filler layer between them. One of the benefits of laminates for guitars is extra resilience in the face of fluctuating humidity conditions. This comes in handy for guitars like the GS Mini and Baby Taylor models, which are travel-friendly guitars that may be more directly exposed to different environments. All Taylor laminate models do feature a solid wood top to optimize the tonal response.
