Comments about TECHNICS SL1200MK2 DIRECT DRIVE TURNTABLE - GOOD +:
Im a vinyl DJ i've been collecting since 94-05 era. Technics are standard and i dont care what people say You aint a real dj till you own yourself a pair of these 1200s..all manual, best pitch slide control on the market(no digital adjustment..meanin you got to put in work with these)signal to noise ratio, wow and flutter, take off(pick-up torqe)Solid construction. TECNICS HEAD SHELL. these have great horse power and considered serious Heavy Metal! they're also great with digital interfaces/programs for todays market. the only thing wrong with them is they have a soldered rca connection, so if your a mobile dj get the upgraded 1200 or 1210 MK5 OR M5G. THOSE HAVE DISCONNECTABLE PHONO PRE-AMP OUTPUTS..a must have for always on the go dj's. 1200MK2 tend to get pulled on often during transport and soldering internal wires is a pain. I would reccomend a set to any dj with a stationary studio espcially for the battle djs keepin real music under their fingertips!!

You can't go wrong with Technics. I have dropped these down a flight of stairs one time and they still work. Do your self a favor and skip the entry level tables and go with the standard. There is a reason the Technics have been the standard for decades.

I have used these since 1984. You can go to a club and find cd players by Numark, Pioneer or Denon. But 9 out of 10 will have 1200's why..cause they are the BEST!!!

I had my pair of 12's since the late 80's and these are my babies. Using the 12's with final scratch, will take any DJ to the top of chain. I just can't imagine spinning without my 12's, they are old and they still run like a champ.

Accurate, High Tourque, and built like a tank. This turntable is a legend in any dj circle and when you get used to the feel it's like using an instrument. Very reliable, and a staple in any serious dj's arsenal even with the advent of the "digital" dj.

Comments about TECHNICS SL1200MK2 DIRECT DRIVE TURNTABLE - GOOD +:
I love these machines. Around since the 70's, and still going strong. There is a reason folks. It's simple and durable design has helped me survive Spills, Drops, Smoke, Scratching, Mixing, and anything else you can really think of. I mean, if you tried to throw these at a wall they would probably go through they are that well built. The motor is still the most accurate in most honest opinion and the turntable tonearm is so stable. Heck you don't even need to buy CD decks cause you can use Final Scratch with this bad boy. No lie, there is a reason why these are in every club, every pro's system. (Even those dj's who endorse other decks use these!) If you are serious about spinning on 12" do yourself a favor and save to get these.

Q:
Is there an SL1200MK1 or SL1200MK3? If so, what are the differences and where are they?Asked on 1/7/2010 by Anonymous4 answers
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Yes, The SL-1200 from 1972 to 1978 Hi-Fi turntable for the home market.
SL-1200MKII: Released in 1978, comes in both silver and black. Technics improved the motor and shock resistance, added a ground wire and changed the rotary pitch control to a slider style.
SL-1200MK3D: Released in 1997, has a silver finish like the MK2, added a quartz lock button which resets pitch to 0 immediately.
New Models are SL-1200MK5, SL-1210MK5 and SL-1210M5G..Answered on 1/8/2010 by DJ MENERGY from Santa Ana, CAA:
On the SL1200MK1....the speed selector was a single switch for both 33 and 45. It was the very 1st 1200 on in technics line. The SL1200MK3 was designed only for the Japanese market. Unlike the SL1200MK2....the MK3 was black in color and had gold plated RCA jacks.Answered on 5/16/2010 by Slice from Rochester,NYA:
If there were they were limited editions that were never really marketed mainstream(probably prototypes of whats on the market today)and i do remember the 1200 or 1210 mk3ds or something to that effect.Answered on 5/23/2010 by DJ VU(View) from New YorkA:
The mk3 was release in 1993 (approximately). I even purchase a pair from pssl! As indicated balck finish with gold rcas and technics foil sticker ont he backside in gold as well.Answered on 6/22/2010 by spin from San Antonio, TX
