Description

Behringer K10S 10 in Powered Studio Subwoofer

The 180-Watt NEKKST K10S Studio Subwoofer's unparalleled, world-class performance is the result of a major collaboration between BEHRINGER audio engineers and loudspeaker master-designer/founder of KRK - Keith R. Klawitter. This incredible audiophile-grade subwoofer is ideal for all critical listening environments thanks to the custom-engineered bridge-mode amplifier that drives the 10" glass-fiber woofer for rich, deep and tight bass. K10S' front-firing port was designed for the ultimate in low-frequency extension - without the typical boundary coupling and port turbulence found in competing systems.

Clean, Accurate Bass

The NEKKST K10S 10" Studio Subwoofer owes its remarkable bass response to Keith Klawitter's front-firing port and scientifically-curved front baffle design, which provides superb low-frequency extension and amazingly-clean sonic performance. A considerable investment of Keith's time and research went into perfecting the interplay between the K10S' woofer and port to maximize efficiency - and minimize the effects of port compression. You'll hear your mix's low end in a more accurate way, ensuring your music always sounds its best in every listening environment.

Environment-Friendly

The ability to adapt to a wide range of acoustic conditions is of paramount importance, and the K10S delivers extreme versatility in this arena. The streamlined rear panel features a variable low-pass filter and phase switch for setting the optimal crossover alignment for your system. So, whether your mixing application takes you on the road, or into your favorite recording studio - you can count on the NEKKST Series to deliver mixes that are consistently-accurate across a wide range of listening environments.

Connectivity and Compatibility

Since a subwoofer's output is contingent on the quality of its input, the NEKKST K10S includes a servo-balanced front end and accepts XLR, TRS and unbalanced RCA connectors, providing for very flexible connectivity. The "Planet Earth" power supply ensures maximum compatibility (100 - 240 V~), noise-free audio and superior transient response, all while consuming very little power. High-quality components throughout and exceptionally rugged construction ensure long life and maximum durability for your investment.

A true collaboration between Keith Klawitter (Mr. KRK) and BEHRINGER, the NEKKST K10S employs the highest-quality components throughout and exceptionally rugged construction, ensuring long life and maximum durability for your investment. With the 180-Watt K10S' comprehensive suite of options and features, this incredible 10" subwoofer delivers audiophile-grade studio monitoring for exceptional mix results.

what is the best method of connecting to a set of powered studio monitors(Mackie CR3)?
DJ Toddersauce on Jan 20, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The Mackie CR3 Creative Reference Multimedia Monitors Pair (Item #89726) has a fairly wide frequency range (80Hz – 20kHz) meaning that the low-end would overlap with the Behringer K10S 10 in Powered Studio Subwoofer (Item #88420) to some degree. If you are doing mixing and mastering work, you might just want to work with the monitors on their own, as adding the sub may give you an inaccurate representation of your mix. Mixing with the sub could cause things to sound weaker on other sound systems, since the low-end was artificially boosted in the monitoring environment.

However, if you are looking to use the monitor/sub combination for some other purpose (ie. live DJing with your own setup at a small club/house party,) you would want to have multiple channels coming from a common source (ie. audio interface, mixer) with a clear distinction of what frequencies are going to either the monitors (everything above 130hz) or the sub (everything below 130hz) to get the clearest sound. The Mackie CR3 Creative Reference Multimedia Monitors Pair (Item #89726) accepts 1/4in and RCA inputs while the Behringer K10S 10 in Powered Studio Subwoofer (Item #88420) accepts RCA and XLR inputs. You may need converters based on the outputs from your sound source, but exactly how to configure that would depend on your specific intended setup.
What is the Frequency range of this sub?
Caleb on Jul 16, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The frequency range for the Behringer K10 is 50 to 130 Hz.
