can this mic be used with alesis miclink wireless?
GK on Nov 29, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes, any handheld mic with a standard XLR connector can be used with the Alesis MicLink system.
can the Blue Encore 10001 instrument mic be used as a vocal mic also
Rick on Oct 24, 2014
BEST ANSWER: While it can be used for vocals, the design of its capsule and diaphragm optimize it for use with instruments. You will generally get "better" performance out of the Encore 100 for vocals but of course better is a relative term.
How does this product work? Does it need to have something connected to it, like a computer? Or does it need anything else?
ardaywardy on Feb 24, 2013
BEST ANSWER: This is a standard wired performance microphone. All you need to do is hook it into your system via XLR cable like most performance mics and it is ready to go. There is no computer required.

Mixed Feelings About Dynamics
Pros: Durable,Easy To Use,Clear Sound
Cons: Bulky/Heavy

I've owned two of the Blue Encore100 for three years now. I was really excited to get it after reading all the reviews and when it came I was shocked at how durable and HEAVY it is. So heavy in fact that I've been consistently afraid to swing my mike around during live shows. Its durability rivals the Shure 58's and I love the look and feel. The chrome does rub off all around the 'Blue' logo, but it just goes gunmetal to match the body, so no big deal.

My highs and lows come in crystal clear and I'd use this mike everywhere if it weren't for one major issue. It isn't dynamic enough. In fact it's almost a condenser in some respects because it picks up so much sound around the sides that it's ridiculous. I play at lot of small stages and the guitarists on either side are turning their cabs up every chance they get. This mic picks up a lot of that noise. I have also had problem with it when using my vocal pedals as the guitars feed through the mic, giving a doubling effect with the addition of my pedal which varies from chromatic to pitch correct to echoes and that angers any guitarist dialed into their favorite tone.

My drummer likes to put it in his bass drum because it picks up sound nicely there. It's also a good room mic for when I use a wireless headset. Suffice it to say, I'll never buy another one of these for myself when surrounded by loud music. I would however use them if the music around me is quieter or more mellow. So the final say is:

- Great for folk, classical, soft rock, soloists and large or quiet stages.
- No so good for loud arena and bar rock.

Best Mic Ever!
Pros: Durable,Clear Sound,Easy To Use,Versatile

This mic is a no brainer! Plug & play! Excellent sound quality, far better than the Shure SM58 in my humble opinion for the same price. I have 6 of these mics and they are amazing for voice, guitar, amps, etc!!! Just buy it, you'll love it!

Quality Mic!
Pros: Great Sound,Super Heavy Duty

This mic is a very well built. I was surprised at how heavy it was. This is a direct contender for Shure microphones. I find it has a better quality design and tonality than any other I have used.

Just as good as, if not BETTER than shure, sennheiser, etc...
This is the 1st handheld mic I ever purchased as a DJ. 8 years later, it still looks & sounds excellent. I bought more Blue Encores to match it. I've used a lot of mics in that time & have never heard one as clear & full sounding as this one. I just wish they came wireless. But they sound so good I still prefer to use my Blue Encores over my wireless set.

Blue Encore 100
Pros: Clear Sound
Cons: Bulky/Heavy

From the reviews it thought there would be a bigger difference from a Shure 58. It does sound different, but not that much. It sounded best with males singers where a Shure 58 is a little to boomy.

Pros: Durable,Easy To Use,Clear Sound
Cons: Bulky/Heavy

received the buy one get one free Microphones a week ago for my church. We used them along with older mics for praise team and the sound quality is great compared to other mics even the cordless one with these mics you don't have to stand as close to them for great sound they were a bit heavy but no big deal we used stands. we plan to use these mics for a long time. great buy.

Great Sounding, Well-made Mic
Am in the process of putting together a new band .... We all had some well used mics of quality & various makes but they had been around the block more than just a few times. I was using my old stalwart EV, the bass player was using an instrument mic & I was letting our lead player use my recently purchased Blue Encore 100. The Blue had a nice warm vocal sound ..... so much so that I ordered two more ..... Now we all have matching mics ...... just perfect for our baritone to tenor voices. They have some heft to them & appear to be well-made. As a bonus, they're darn good looking.
