Hi, i just recently bought the Peavey PV 118D 18" powered subwoofer and wanted to just double chack and make sure it was ok to go 'Main Out' from my Mackie 1402-VLZ PRO mixer to the 'main Input' of the Subwoofer. Please reply as ssoon as possible, thanks!

(The mixer is a 14-channel Mic/Line Mixer with 'Premium XDR Mic pre-amplifiers')
    Matt on Aug 14, 2014
    BEST ANSWER: Hello Matt,

Thanks for submitting your question with PSSL. Yes, you may connect the "Main Out" directly from your mixer into the Peavey PV 118D 18 in Powered PA Subwoofer (SKU 75197). However, I strongly recommend using some sound processing, such as a DriveRack or at least a crossover to get a deep bass response and avoid highs/mids frequencies from playing through the subwoofer.

    Thank you,

    yair P.

Pros: Attractive Design,Good Power Output,Easy To Set Up,Great Sound Quality,Easy to Mount
    Cons: Lack Of Power

after purchasing a xr1212 powerd mixer I'm stubborn so I wanted my entire p.a to match(component wise).i added 2 sp5's and 2 bw equipped floor wedges.at this point this system cranked.but I just had to add a sub, enter the 118d,now my p.a will hurt the average listener. My band plays rock but in a small bar the settings are kept pretty low.we are yet to play outdoors but I can't wait to let her rip. One small gripe,i feel the need to add another118d,but I think it's because how cool it looks under the sp cab(sub has pole mount for main)one more thing if your standing by the sub during a performance you'd swear it's not on but walk outfront 50 feet and oh ya it's on!
