I'm trying to use this mic to record vocals with Ableton....what else would I need (as far as interface, cables, etc.)
abe on Dec 23, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Hello, looks like you have everything you need to record vocals with Ableton. Mic,interface, and cable. You would then need to create a mono audio track, choose the input that the mic is connected to and record arm the track.

An essential mic
Pros: Easy To Use,Lightweight,Long Lasting,Durable,Great Sound Quality

This is a swiss army mic found in everyone's cabinet. They are extremely rugged and versatile. Great on amps and snare, but can also be used on acoustic instruments and pianos in a pinch. Everyone should have at least two of these in their mic locker.

Powerhouse Mic
Pros: Great Sound Quality

I use it for both live sound and DJ . It is a great DJ mic for behind the stacks. Being also an instrument mic it rejects the bass overload from being behind high powerede stacks.

The go to snare mic that does a great job with amps
If you have ever heard a live snare either on an album or live in concert, odds are it was miked with the Shure SM57 Dynamic Instrument Microphone. This is the standard mic on snares and guitar amps but works well on bass cabs and stringed instruments.I have placed this mic in front of big 4x12 cabs pushing out 200 watts, acoustic guitars (in live settings), bass amps, and actually as well as vocals. This mic can handle it all, however, I recommend the Shure SM58 for live vocals because it has more clarity.

A Go-To Instrument Mic
Pros: Great Sound,Easy To Set Up,Durable

I have several of these little wonders, and am very pleased with them. I've used them for a variety of sources, including woodwinds, brass, drums, percussion, guitar cabs, etc. I've used them in a variety of settings, including live bands, stage, orchestra, and recording. Now, they're not as good as a solid condenser mic in terms of a flat sound or sensitivity. So they're not your best choice for recording. But in a live performance setting, where you need a rugged mic with good (not perfect) sound that can deal with the unpredictable on-stage volumes you can run into, this is a very handy performer indeed.
