Description

Bassboss MFLA-36 2X12-In Medium Format Line Array

Extraordinarily Powerful, Massive Output, True Line Array

Why choose an MFLA Line ArrayThe MFLA features extremely high output, low distortion, wide coverage, simple setup and very long-throw performance. Horizontal dispersion is 120 degrees combined with 10 degrees of vertical dispersion. The flyware is adjustable in 1 degree increments from 0 to 10 degrees.

The MFLA incorporates proprietary technology to create isophasic midrange radiation with coherent vertical coupling between elements for longer throw, while also providing wider horizontal dispersion from the 12" woofers.

No need to hold back!Bassboss Tops and MicroMains are optimized and protected for safe, high-power operation.

All Bassboss loudspeakers are complete systems. Optimized cabinet design, premium quality drivers, power-matched amplification and comprehensive processing ensure that no matter the demand, they keep their cool, keep their character and keep on working.

The MFLA cabinet features innovations in performance and practicality. The forward output of the dual 12? woofers passes through a multi-aperture diffraction matrix that distributes mid-range energy evenly and in phase over the height of the cabinet. This matrix thereby reduces the acoustical source spacing to provide exceptional projection of mid-range frequencies. The matrix also shifts upper-midrange frequency output toward the center of the cabinet, which broadens the horizontal dispersion of the midrange frequencies. Because this technology allows the MFLA to deliver coherent midrange propagation from a symmetrical 2-way design, the high frequency lenses can be utilized for extremely wide horizontal coverage, even often eliminating the need for front-fills.

The rear output of the woofers enters a vented enclosure that features integrated damper structures that enhance midrange clarity along with extensive bracing for minimal resonance. The vents are located to further improve midrange clarity and provide for wider horizontal coverage capability while they do their primary duty of delivering exceptional low frequency performance. Their location also provides for a secondary function of ducting cool air directly over the low-frequency driver motors for reduced thermal compression and improved reliability.

Fixed-Point Flyware ensures absolutely consistent box-to-box alignment. The high-frequency output remains coherent at higher frequencies because the cabinets cannot move front-to-back once the pins are inserted. This precision alignment in the direction that influences time domain is critical for the phase of high-frequency signals to remain coherent from box to box. This feature dramatically improves the very high-frequency propagation effectiveness of the entire array, allowing the MFLA to deliver pristine highs at greater distances.

The MFLA Flyware features a simultaneous compression and tension mechanism, allowing the cabinets to be flown or ground stacked using the same simple setup. The proprietary flyware design ensures there is no slack and no shifting in the box alignment once the boxes are pinned. The mechanism allows for single-handed adjustment of splay angles for ground-stacked operation or in preparation for flying.

Bassboss cabinets are CNC machined and hand-built in the USA. Constructed from 15mm Baltic Birch plywood, using dado joints, screws and advanced composite adhesives. The cabinets feature integrated interior reflection and resonance control structures and are extensively braced. Created to stand up to intense use. The cabinets are finished in an extremely rugged, black polyurethane coating and feature polyethylene sliders, stainless steel fasteners and CNC machined, powder-coated metal suspension linkage. Rolling ground-support carts, heavy duty padded covers and road-cases are available to make transporting the arrays easy and safe.

Bassboss subwoofers are available to fly above or support below the MFLAs to extend system performance to well below 30Hz.?The MFLA’s remarkable output can be combined with subwoofers for extended low frequency response and intensely high low-frequency output levels.? Several subwoofer options are available including 18? and 21? driver versions. Flyware-equipped subwoofers can be used as ground-supports for arrays of up to 6 MFLA boxes.

A 3000W RMS amplifier provides the MFLA with very high SPL capabilities and plenty of dynamic headroom. Low current draw and light weight relative to their output capacity means you can provide intense sound with less power and fewer boxes.

The comprehensive processing ensures consistent, undistorted high-SPL operation and maximum reliability. All the processing necessary for linear frequency response and phase coherent operation are pre-programmed into the DSP, delivering exceptional dynamic resolution and detail along with precise control. The proprietary processing programmed into the Bassboss MFLA provide the ease of plug-and-play operation and very simple and easy setups. You also get the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the multi-tiered limiters make the system virtually indestructible.

Electrical power is converted into acoustical energy by a pair of 12? neodymium motor woofers and a pair of 1.4? throat neodymium compression drivers. The premium-quality 12? drivers feature 3.5? aluminum voice coils with a combined power handling rating of 2800W program.

High-intensity Neodymium magnets are lighter and provide higher efficiency so the result is a lighter and louder cabinet. An aluminum demodulating ring provides for increased high frequency response and reduced distortion. A ventilated voice coil gap improves cooling and reduces thermal compression.

The cones are waterproofed to protect them from possible accidental exposure to moisture orrain.

High frequencies are handled by two 1.4? throat Neodymium compression drivers featuring 64mm aluminum voice coils and Titanium diaphragms mounted to two cast aluminum isophasic wave guides that provide 120 degree horizontal dispersion and are protected from the elements by a hydrophobic screen.

Waterproofed cones are included in all products. Optional weather resistant and fully weatherized versions are available which have the same acoustical performance as their standard options. If your portable system is likely to be exposed to rain, ask about IP rated amplification options. If you have need of a system for outdoor installation, ask about Weatherized products. Weatherized versions are modified and treated to survive permanent exposure to the elements.

Bassboss speakers can be connected directly to your mixer with nothing but signal cable in between. The built-in processing is comprehensive and includes all necessary high-pass and low-pass filters along with equalization and phase alignment processing to ensure coherent response when deployed with Bassboss subwoofers.

There is no need for any additional EQ in the signal path for the speaker to provide a broad, flat frequency response. Sophisticated DSP programming ensures the speakers deliver consistent sound quality no matter the input level.

Plug-and play with peace of mind. Multiple, sophisticated protection systems make the loudspeaker virtually indestructible. You can turn on and turn up, all night, without fear of over-driving to the point of damage.

Bassboss technical specs are based on measurements of continuous performance in normal usage. Other manufacturers may specify output based on calculations rather than measurements; measurements outside the operating bandwidth; or on ‘Burst’ or ‘Peak’ readings.

Bassboss specifications are conservative compared to most manufacturers. They reflect what the products will achieve, consistently, in the real world.
