802® Series III Loudspeakers - Hear the next step in innovation.
Get the audio quality, versatility and durability you need with the new 802® Series III loudspeaker. We enhanced our flagship professional loudspeaker to deliver high-output performances for medium-size clubs, large indoor venues and outdoor spaces. New drivers and active equalization help reproduce vocals and musical instruments with improved smoothness and warmth—at low or high volumes, from live or recorded music.
High-performance sound
Deliver clear, lifelike sound and
avoid acoustical "deadspots" with Bose® 4.5-inch drivers and Articulated Array®
speaker configuration. The 802 Series III loudspeaker uses eight proprietary
full-range drivers to provide a more consistent sound field than conventional
speakers that rely on woofers, tweeters and crossovers. Our proprietary speaker
configuration uses a baffle array for each driver to provide wide horizontal and
vertical dispersion over all bandwidths.
Durability
Need a speaker that works as hard as you do?
The 802 III speakers are now part of our new Installed Anywhere® speaker line,
meeting our strictest standards for outdoor use. The transducer has been
upgraded to withstand snow, sleet and rain, severe cold, high heat and
humidity—the worst that Mother Nature can dish out. The input/output connectors
are extremely rugged and reliable, and the sturdy yet lightweight
mica-reinforced polyethylene cabinet stands up to severe weather and frequent
transporting.
Portability
It doesn't matter how great you sound if you
can't get your gear to the event. That's why we designed the compact 802 III
speakers for remarkable portability. Setup and tear-down are a snap and new
sleeker styling conserves space both on stage and in the van. A full line of
brackets and stands further accommodates a wide variety of
configurations.

Comments about Bose 802-III Array Speaker 8 - 4.5 In Drivers:
I have used the BOSE 802 II's for years and have had great luck with them. I also run a Bose 502BP subwoofer (Awesome Sub that works great with the 402/802's if you can get your hands on one). I plan on getting a pair of the model III's for outdoor use. These are great for any application due to their size, quality of sound, toughness, and ease of use. The larger the application, the more units you get; that simple. Be smart and acquire the system controller or prepare for disappointment. These (and the 902's) are the speakers that made Bose famous, they are an industry standard. You WILL be impressed with your purchase.

Comments about Bose 802-III Array Speaker 8 - 4.5 In Drivers:
The system is the panaray with 802III's and MB4's, AND processor, used for a live band. Powered by two QSC power amps, a PLX2402, and a PLX3002. I've read many comments about how Bose has no low frequency response. BULL$%&#! I've used this system for about four years, and get many complements on our sound. The bass is tight and strong, and the mids and highs are well dispersed and crystal clear. If you are gonna use the Bose system, you have to be smart enough to use the WHOLE system including the processor. Otherwise you will whine and complain about "no bass, and sounds muddy". NO, IT'S NOT CHEAP! BUT, it's easy to carry, set up, tear down, load and unload. And, it doesn't need a tractor trailer to haul around. Been there, done that.

Comments about Bose 802-III Array Speaker 8 - 4.5 In Drivers:
A friend of mine owns a pair of these. Prior to he owned a pair of the Cerwin Vega's with the Metal Shiny cone *Sorry the model number is slipping me at the moment. With that, I found that the CV's where great for the genre's that we worked with which required Deep bass, and clear highs. These Bose, altough compact, just lacked that Oomph that I so craved. They were clear and loud, but more mid than low. I guess with an Bass module that would work out a bit better but now you are getting into the thousand dollar category, and for that, you may be better of with Active style speakers. Great for weddings and gala's where speakers would be out of sight and mind and you require a lower volume.
