This is a decent laser unit that performs well for its class and price range, however it lacks beam power on dotted/dashed geometric paterns where the beam all but dissapears even with a decent amount of fog in the air and no lights on... Solid geometric patterns produce a bright beam/surface outside at night or with minimal room lighting and fog. Surface area that is covered by the spread of the beam is rather small. I really thought this product had a true "locked" on a pattern setting from its description [...], however when it arrived I discovered that each time the unit is turned off while in manual mode it starts at the first function in the cycle and you have to push the selector button to get back to the desired function... I bought this for a 8 foot spaceship prop for halloween, between the low beam power when on the dashed/dotted paterns in auto mode and resetting to the first patern each time the power is turned on in manual mode (which happens to be a dashed stationary circle...) i had to pick the lesser of two evils and go with the auto cycle, our effect could have been much more dramatic if we could have left it programmed to a flat wall effect or the expanding/retracting circle...All in all for house partys, use in your room, or tight budgets its a pretty good unit... users that are expecting a bit more will have to shell out some additional cash.

this is a small laser perfect for small gigs. it has a long beam but it fades out after awhile. it runs cool and it is very light and transports easily. another con is that it does not cover a lot of the dance floor.
