We at the City of Marina purchase quite frequently, at PSSL. [...] Our City needs wireless mics for presentations and have purcahsed some lower price and lowered quality mics in the past and from our experiences this on this definitly the best one we have so far. I would overall say this mic is the best "Bang for the Buck." I'm sure tehre are better wireless mics, but for this price this is a great Mic.

This mic is definitely a well built product, it has crystal clear reception. I had a VHF cordless mic before this and it got a lot of interference when the user of the mic was a long way from the base. This is a base price UHF mic that has zero interference even when the user is on the other side of a big outdoor wedding tent.
There are two notable factors that point to this being Shure's base price model:
1)If you need to change channels you cannot do it on the fly, you need to change the channel on the base and then take apart the mic to change the channel on the mic. Although, I have yet to encounter a situation where I've needed to change the channel, it's just stayed on channel one.
2)There is no volume control on the base. This is not a problem for me because I solely use the volume control on my mixer.
So the performance of this mic has been great and crystal clear, my only beef with it is the on/mute/off button. It is a soft pressed button that has a light which is either green/orange/unlit respectively. It's not too difficult to train the user on the fly, (say in the case of giving directions to the best man who's about to make a toast) green-go, orange-wait. But, to turn the mic off entirely (and save your battery life) you must hold the button in for a second until the light goes out. I know this sounds knit-picky, but that second of holding it in and watching the light go out seems way more distracting to my flow as a DJ than just simply flicking off a switch.
But overall, trust the name, Shure is the real deal. I like the fact that the base is so small and doesn't even need to have an antennae sticking up. Both the base and the mic are incredibly light weight. The mic almost seems too light, like it feels like a toy in your hand, but I suppose I'm just psychologically used to the weight of a SM58.

Comments about Shure PG24PG58 Wireless Handheld Microphone System:
The Shure microphone works great! Has a decent range and is comfortable in a wedding/banquet hall. I did have some reception trouble when I tried to use the microphone across the length of an entire high school gym.
It is easy to set-up and simple to use. I've had professional singers use it and drunken fathers-of-the-bride use it and it came in clear.
It is great for the price, but the price is a bit high for many beginning DJs.

I was excited about getting this mic. It sounds great when working, had it for a month then all of a sudden it stopped working . Never dropped it, No water damage it just cranked out. After reading reviews and trusting the shure name I bought it ,probably just a defective one , but so dissapointed after spending [$] for a month's use.Good thing I had a SM58 Backup.

Comments about Shure PG24PG58 Wireless Handheld Microphone System:
We practice 2 or 3 times a week singing for at least 4 hours each session. The microphones are used for gigs at least twice a month, these microphones have great sound and do exactly what we need for them to do. I have bought one other brand and was not happy so came back to old faithful Shure Mic's.
